More photos!

Our precious little bundle is finally here, and surprisingly a week early at that! After 20 hours of labor (and almost 3 hours of pushing), Noah made his debut at 11:04 p.m. on September 21st. Everyone is healthy ~ Noah has a bit of jaundice but that should subside soon. He has already changed our lives in so many ways, and we are both still in awe that he is actually ours! What an amazing, incredible experience...we just can't put it into words.

P and I have both have had only a few hours of sleep (total ;-) so I will post more after we hopefully get more sleep and have a better routine established. Things are a bit crazy at the Oja household right now :-) But sleep or no sleep, we are so incredibly blessed to finally have our wonderful little miracle here!

Already a daddy's boy :-)

Will Noah be a September or October baby??

In honor of the single digit countdown today :-)...we thought we would post another fun poll of sorts. When do you think Baby Noah will make his grand entrance? We are hoping for him to come sometime close to his 'due' date, give or take a few days ;-) Even though the research is against it (first time mom's start labor an average of 1.1+ weeks late), we have our fingers crossed! But, most of all, we want Noah to come when he is ready too!!

So....what does everyone think??? Post your guess dates and guess times (and if you're feeling adventurous, his 'stats' :-) It will be fun to keep this blog to show Noah someday :-)

38 Weeks

Crunch time!! Where has the time gone? We are still crazy busy trying to get everything done. I will hopefully post more later this week...hope everyone is doing well!

38 Weeks
As you know, you've arrived at the final leg of your pregnancy journey, and if you're still carrying your little love around, they've just about reached their birth weight (somewhere between 6 to 8 pounds is average depending on whether they're a boy or girl). There really isn't a lot to report on baby this week, so lets do a quick recount of where we're at: all internal organ systems are pretty much ready for the outside world, they've got their meconium stockpile building up (their first black baby poo), lots of healthy baby fat, a rapidly developing brain (that'll keep growing with them for years to come), and they've more or less reached official baby status-- all they need to do is "head out" and say hello to the rest of the world and especially their ready-to-pop momma.

Happy (Belated) Grandparents Day!

Just a quick post to our soon to be Grandparents and Great Grandparents.

This reminded me of the Grandparents poem we posted back in April, and I think it fits this occasion very well :-)

Happy belated Grandparents day! We hope you all are looking forward to lots and lots of babysitting :-)

37 Weeks

It’s the calm before the storm. Changes in your baby's weight have leveled off with only a few ounces of fat added this week. At this point your baby should weigh in at around 6.5 plus lbs and 20 inches (with boys somewhat heavier and longer than girls). Happily, as far as internal organs go, they are now developed enough to function in the outside world although the oh-so-important immune system is still developing and will continue to do so after birth. With a large boost of antibodies provided by breast milk when nursing begins. Fighting infection and staying healthy should be well within their physical capacity when your little fighter is born.

Be patient: if labor doesn’t start this week, or next, keep in mind that only 4-5% of women actual deliver on their predicted due date. What’s more if this is your first pregnancy, you can expect to deliver closer to 40 weeks or shortly thereafter. With exactly 3 weeks to go, we are hoping for sooner rather than later!

Bump-a-licious fun - take 3

We had a busy weekend - we ran tons of errands Saturday, helped Big D move out on Sunday, and started rearranging our temporary (until we move in Dec/Jan) nursery. It was nice to be able to actually put away some of our baby loot that until now has been hanging out in our living room/workout room, but we are still really cramped and are looking forward to getting a house in a few months.

We are really, really going to miss having Big D as a roommate. We've shared lots and lots of good times, and we definitely enjoyed having him live with us the past 3+ years. It was also handy to have a mechanical, soon-to-be engineer living with us to help P and I's not-so-mechanical selves. We are going to miss you Big D! Luckily, he will only be 15 minutes away :-) He is also 'on call' in case P is away on a rotation and he already has the route to the hospital mapped out :-) And, as G-Pup's favorite uncle, he is always the first we call when we need a dog-sitter :-)

More pics below for my bump fans :-) I am only fitting into a few shirts now, so hope I don't get too much bigger :-) Our OB is guesstimating Noah is over 6 lbs already!
